Important information regarding the COVID-19 pandemic

Due to ongoing COVID-19 safety concerns, Orchestra North Owen Sound is presenting  "Orchestra North UX" and “Orchestra North LIVE,” featuring both online and in-person activities. UX Classes and lessons will take place online while LIVE events will be held outdoors in accordance with public health protocols.

Program Outline

Orchestra North UX, July 12-16 2021, offers daily morning online classes, private lessons, faculty concerts, and participant performances led by some of Canada’s finest players and educators.

From 10:00-11:45AM EDT the programs will feature online classes for beginner, intermediate and advanced musicians on string, wind and brass instruments. Additional concerts, events, and private lessons will occur throughout the week.

Student: $130

Adult:  $160

*All rates include one (1) 30 minute private lesson. 


Additional lessons can be added in 30 or 60 min increments and purchased at check out for $60.00/Hour

Junior Program

STRINGS ONLY, AGES 5-10

July 12-16, 10:30-11:30AM EDT

(RCM Preliminary- Grade 2) 

Just starting out on a string instrument? Join our Junior strings class and learn songs that you will want to play all summer!

 

Led by our popular and creative faculty, this virtual class will feature the Kids Collage Class, games, private lessons, performances at our Festival Finale Concert, and access to our beloved trivia sessions, online concerts and events, and much more!

Junior Program classes are daily from 10:00-11:30AM EDT, include one 30 minute online private lesson, and exclusive access to our concerts and special events.

Intermediate

Program

STRINGS, WOODWINDS & BRASS,

AGES 10+

July 12-16, 10:30-11:45AM EDT

(RCM Grade 3- Grade 6)
Intermediate strings, woodwinds, and brass players will begin exploring the world of music through varied repertoire, group playing activities, and an exploration of techniques with our renowned faculty. 

 

Combining interactive classes with collaboration with other players, and private lessons,  our Intermediate participants will also have the opportunity to perform at our Festival Finale virtual recital, play our popular music trivia, attend online concerts and events and much more!  

Intermediate Program classes are daily from 10:00-11:45AM EDT, include one 30 minute online private lesson, and exclusive access to our concerts and special events.

Senior Program

STRINGS, WOODWINDS & BRASS,

AGES 14+

July 12-16, 10:30-11:45AM EDT

(RCM Grade 7 and up)
Senior strings, woodwinds, and brass players are invited to participate in this fun and intensive program featuring classes led by National Ballet of Canada Concertmaster, Aaron Schwebel (violin), Western University Assistant Professor Aaron Hodgson (trumpet), renowned Oboist Graham Mackenzie, Interro Quartet, and many others. 

 

Over the course of five days, participants will explore the many technical and stylistic aspects of the musical world, while participating in masterclasses, technique and vibrato workshops, explore jazz, improvisation and other genres of music, attend and attend private lessons.  Other activities include performing at the Festival Finale virtual recital, competing against friends and family at our popular music trivia, attending online concerts and events and much more!

Senior Program classes are daily from 10:00-11:45AM EDT, include one 30 minute online private lesson, and exclusive access to our concerts and special events.
